.index command (Runoff)

The .index command places the text and the current page number into the document’s index.

Note: Once a .save-index command is encountered, index references are written into a file and not saved in memory.

Syntax

.index text


`text`	Must be enclosed in double quotation marks if it contains embedded spaces.
