# Q-pointer

A Q-pointer defines a duplicate (synonym) name for an already
existing file.

The first attribute of such a pointer must be Q. The second
attribute is the account name. The third attribute is the file name.
Applications beyond the third attribute are applications specific.
When the system opens a file, attribute 4 is taken from the most recently
resolved Q-pointer.
